PolarS

By

Miranda L. Cunningham

i do not get sad

i melt, i pour, i become paralyzed

i do not get happy

i beam, i float, i become the definition of euphoria

I am either wreaking havoc

or illuminating the world with pure ecstasy

i cannot smile without a blinding glow

and i cannot cry without drowning the earth

one day someone will learn

to always have sunglasses in their back pocket

and a paddle boat for backup

Quiz question:

What is the main subject of this poem?
